Buckshaw Beasts and Village Fiends out in force!
Resident zombies, ghouls and witches all haunted the Buckshaw Village Community Centre this Halloween weekend at a free community event hosted by the Buckshaw Village Community Association (BVCA). Locals were invited to take part in a host of traditional games including Bobbing for Apples and a Dare to discover the contents of some mysterious boxes – including Buckshaw Beasts blood and guts, Monsters Vomit and Rotten Pendle Witches Fingers!! Ewww!!
Buckshaw children enjoyed the Disco, games and face-painter, while Mums & Dads made the most of the great food and drink on offer at Country Hog Roast, Dippy Doos Chocolate Wagon and newcomer, Chris Mather Fish & Chips. Some great photographs on our facebook pages here.
Local resident, Karen Henderson stated “Thank you for a fantastic Halloween event. My two children aged 5 and 3 had a ball tonight and were both very reluctant to leave!”. The BVCA raised over £1100 at the event which will go towards community amenities and services for the village.
BVCA Events Director, David Bush added “We regularly consult the residents of the village, through our community online forum, at events, residents meetings and via www.buckshaw.org and all of the activities the BVCA carry out are a direct consequence of that . We’re so glad that Buckshaw residents came out to support us and now we’re looking forward to our all-day Christmas event!”. Tickets for the Buckshaw Pantomime, Sleeping Beauty are on sale now through the BVCA website and will be just one part of the all day celebrations on Sun 4th December which includes a festive farmers market, panto, light switch on, community carolling and live band concert!
