BVCA Vacancy - Time Ticking
Time is running out for would be Buckshaw volunteers to get their election papers back in. As 2011 drew to a close the Buckshaw Village Community Association (BVCA) announced with a heavy heart that one of its twenty strong committee members; Mark Jarnell, was stepping down after two years of volunteering. During his time on the committee Mark completed a lot of good work for the committee and local community. Mark’s departure creates a vacancy on the BVCA Committee and in-line with the BVCA Constitution, the vacancy has been advertised across a range of places including the BVCA website, the BVCA forum and the local BVCA noticeboards. Time is now ticking down on the 14 day notice period, completed nomination forms need to be returned to the Finance Director; Rebecca Stapleton-Harris by 5pm on January 6th.
Any resident of Buckshaw Village, over the age of 14, can stand to be elected on to the BVCA committee. Elected members are expected to volunteer their time to help with a wide range of community activities from helping to organise local events, to campaigning for local issues to helping maintain the ‘BVCA back office.’
Please note in line with the constitution, the successful nominee will become a co-opted member until the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in April 2012 where they will be required to stand for election to obtain full Committee status should they wish to continue as part of the BVCA Committee.
