Health Centre Given Green Light
Work will start on a new permanent building for Buckshaw Village Surgery in the next few weeks after the move was approved by NHS bosses.
The new premises will house a GP surgery, an NHS dental surgery and other health and social care services, catering for up to 10,000 patients.
Dr Nimal Muttucumaru, who will move over from The Lodge in Buckshaw Retirement Village, said: “We have had really strong demand for our services as demonstrated by the number of patients registered with the practice so far.
“The opportunity to work from a state of the art surgery with the increased capacity is fantastic news.
“We look forward to working closely with healthcare professionals and the local community to further develop our services.”
Eric Wright Construction will carry out the building work.
